Sound as Ever (Australian Indie 90-99) is excited to announce that they will partner up with Jodi Phillis (The Clouds, The Dearhunters, Roger Loves Betty & more) to release her yet to be titled 6th solo album in autumn this year.
Fans can get a taste of the album with the release of the two track digital single ‘Summer of Fires’ b/w ‘Song For Georgia’.
‘Summer of Fires’ was inspired by the catastrophic 2019/20 Australian bushfires, and is a poetic lament, with a lush orchestral viola arrangement by Melbourne musician Biddy Connor and production by composer and member of Dropping Honey, Damien Lane. The song is very much a call to action to take climate change seriously.
‘Song For Georgia’ is a folk/pop tribute to the great American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe, continuing Jodi’s dedications in song to some of the creative spirits who have inspired her, such as ‘Hieronymus’ (Bosch) and ‘Vali’ (Myers).
